Floating for stress and better sleep

Swedish research from Karlstad University shows how regular floats can reduce stress and improve sleep.

Sweden is one of the world's leading countries in floating research, much of it from Karlstad University. Their studies consistently point to the same thing: regular floating reduces stress and helps people sleep better.

What the studies found

In a randomised trial, participants who floated 12 times over seven weeks reported less stress, anxiety and depression, plus better sleep and more optimism — effects that remained months later.

Why it works

Removing almost all sensory input lets the nervous system shift from fight-or-flight into rest-and-digest. Muscle tension drops, breathing slows and the mind gets a rare chance to switch off.
