Can you use friskvårdsbidrag for floating?
Yes. At Float In Space you can use your friskvårdsbidrag for floating (from 699 kr per 60 min), infrared sauna (from 399 kr per session) and all of our memberships. We are a connected provider on Benifex and Epassi. If your employer uses another system, book and pay as usual and we send you a receipt to hand in. Employers can give up to 5 000 kr per employee and year tax-free, according to Skatteverket.
Friskvårdsbidrag, explained
What is friskvårdsbidrag?
Friskvårdsbidrag — literally “wellness allowance” — is a tax-free employee benefit in Sweden. Your employer gives you an amount each year to spend on preventive wellness: massage, gym training, spa, naprapathy and similar activities. Skatteverket allows up to 5 000 kr per employee and year to be paid out tax-free; anything above that is taxed as income.
How does friskvårdsbidrag work in practice? Most employers hand the money over through a benefits portal such as Benifex or Epassi, where you pay directly with your wellness balance. If your employer has no portal, you pay for the activity yourself and hand in a receipt — the amount is then reimbursed through your salary. Many employers renew the allowance on 1 January, and money you don't use before 31 December usually disappears.
How much do you get?
Your employer decides the amount, up to 5 000 kr per year tax-free. Most give somewhere between 2 000 and 5 000 kr.
