Question 1

What is an infrared sauna and how is it different from a regular sauna?

Accepted Answer

A traditional sauna heats the air around you. An infrared sauna uses infrared light to warm your body directly, so it works at a lower, gentler air temperature while you still sweat deeply.

Question 2

Is infrared sauna safe?

Accepted Answer

It suits most people. If you have a heart condition, low blood pressure or another condition affected by heat, talk to your doctor before booking. Always skip the sauna if you're ill or feverish.

Question 3

How long should an infrared sauna session be?

Accepted Answer

Listen to your body rather than the clock. Many people stay 20–40 minutes; on your first visit, start shorter and take breaks whenever you need.

Question 4

How often should I use an infrared sauna?

Accepted Answer

Like exercise, regularity gives the best results. We recommend at least once a month, and once a week is common if you're active or dealing with stress or sore muscles.

Question 5

How should I prepare for an IR sauna session?

Accepted Answer

Avoid caffeine for about 3 hours beforehand, drink water and arrive in good time so you can wind down. On your first visit, take a few minutes to read the instructions in the room.

Question 6

What should I bring?

Accepted Answer

Usually just yourself. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated — especially important since you'll sweat. Towels are included, and shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and a hairdryer are waiting for you.

Question 7

Should I wear clothes in the sauna?

Accepted Answer

The sauna is completely private, so it's up to you. Whatever you choose, sit on a towel for hygiene.

Question 8

Can I listen to music in the IR sauna?

Accepted Answer

Yes — you're the DJ. Connect your phone and play a podcast, your own playlist or simply enjoy the silence.

Question 9

What if I feel dizzy or unwell from the heat?

Accepted Answer

End your session straight away — the door always opens from the inside. Drink water before and after, and listen to your body rather than the clock.

Question 10

Can I use an infrared sauna while pregnant?

Accepted Answer

Heat and pregnancy should be handled with care, whatever type of sauna, to avoid overheating. Always consult your midwife or doctor before using the sauna while pregnant.

Question 11

Is the sauna hygienic?

Accepted Answer

Wiping down the bench and surfaces is part of our routine after every session, so each guest steps into a clean room.

Question 12

Can I combine IR sauna with floating?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Our Combo deal gives two of you full access to the space for two hours — one floats while the other enjoys the sauna, then you swap.

Question 13

How does it work without staff?

Accepted Answer

Float In Space is fully self-service: you get a door code when you book, and clear instructions guide you from check-in to checkout.

Question 14

Is the space wheelchair accessible?

Accepted Answer

We're in a 1930s building and unfortunately the space is not accessible by today's standards. Contact us with any accessibility questions before booking.
